Corona 10 Update, April 25
Corona Virus Update 10
April 25, 2020
I continue to hope everyone is well. Stay the course and continue to follow the federal, state, and local guidelines. Below is the DSHS link. It provides daily coronavirus updates.
It is a continuing reminder to complete U.S. Census data and get it submitted. This information has a huge impact on funding for our state, county, community, and school district.
We cannot have prom but continue to work on graduation. We have scenarios for both virtual and on-site commencement. Our hope is that restrictions are loosened enough to allow some form of an on-site program for our seniors. I flat hate this for our seniors.
I continue to encourage you to stay in contact with your child's teacher. Do not hesitate to contact your child's campus principal if problems arise. Gunter Rodriguez firstname.lastname@example.org Amanda Barrientes email@example.com Matt Caffey firstname.lastname@example.org Although the conditions are less than optimal, it is critical to understand that school is still in session. It is my expectation that teachers continue to teach and students continue to learn. Teachers are working hard to modify and accommodate for every student. Lessons are assigned and grades are taken. It is very very important that students complete assigned work. As a follow up to this, there will be no new lessons assigned after May 8, 2020. All outstanding assignments are due no later than 8:00 am Thursday, May 14, 2020. Credit for work completed will not be issued past this date and time.
Thank you again and again for your help and support. Make sure to monitor our district Facebook page, our campus Facebook pages, district website www.olneyisd.net. This is a huge mess for students, parents, our community, and staff. When the dust settles it is my firm believe we will only be better at what we do and how we serve the needs of our students and community. I look for the 2020-2021 school year to be truly phenomenal.
