Who Can Ride

Olney ISD provides bus transportation to eligible students who live in the district. Eligibility depends on how far you live from your child's campus and on your child's individual needs.

  • Students who live 2 or more miles from their campus, measured along the shortest public-road route.
  • Students who live within 2 miles but in a board-designated hazardous traffic area.
  • A licensed child-care facility or a grandparent's home can serve as the pickup or drop-off location, as long as it's an approved route stop and meets the same distance or hazardous-area rule.
  • Students receiving special education services ride as outlined in their IEP.
