Olney Community Library sits on the campus of Olney ISD in a stand alone 10,800 square foot facility that belongs to the library itself. We are a combination library serving the patrons of Olney and Olney ISD. The first of its kind in the nation, Olney Community Library opened its doors in late May of 1979. The concept for the new building was to be a community gathering place, a community center – both students and adults patrons share the space. Along with books, movies, audio books and ebooks, the Library offers technology that is purposeful and useable. Technology is ever-changing and the Library is committed to have current technology available for patrons to use and learn. We continue to believe that by fostering a community of passionate and engaged learners, we can prepare both our students and community patrons for bright futures and equip them with the skills necessary to thrive in an ever-changing world.
The Olney Community Library will be participating in the Texoma Gives campaign Thursday, Sept. 5, 2024. Online giving through the Texoma Gives website at www.texomagives.org and a Facebook food and dessert auction from 1-6 pm.
