7th Grade Band Participates in Concert and Sight-Reading Evaluations

Members of the 7th Grade Junior High Bands participated in the UIL Region 7 Concert and Sight-reading Evaluations (formerly Contests) on Thursday, April 6 at Wichita Falls High School.

The Non-Varsity Band (seventh graders), under the direction of Mr. Rodney D. Bennett, received an “excellent” rating for the Concert portion of the evaluation. Tunes prepared for the event were “Manchester March” by John Edmondson, “Qin Shi’s Stone Army” by Tyler Arcari, and “Rust Belt” by William Owens.

Students received a first-division rating in the Sight-reading evaluation, where reading and performing a previously unseen piece of music is required. The Seventh Grade Band received a plaque in recognition of their superior efforts.
